Award amounts for private school

For 2026-27, a private school student is eligible for $10,474, or up to $30,000 depending on special education service needs.

TEFA does not guarantee admission

A TEFA award does not guarantee a seat at a private school. Contact your preferred school about admission and complete the school's own enrollment process.

You did not have to name a school when applying. Awarded families confirm enrollment at a participating school during the summer.

Testing requirement

Students attending a participating private school must take an annual norm-referenced standardized test and report the results.

Find a participating school

The Comptroller publishes a map of participating schools and education services, with new participants added regularly. Browse our DFW Christian schools list, then confirm each school's participation status with the state.
