How to Apply for TEFA
The application timeline, documents to gather, and how to get ready for the 2027-28 cycle.

The 2026-27 timeline
- Applications open: February 4, 2026.
- Applications closed: March 17, 2026.
- Award notices began: early April 2026.
- Enrollment confirmed at participating schools: summer.
- First funds available: July 1.
How the application works
- Only a parent, guardian, or person with legal authority can apply.
- Submit one application per household that includes all children.
- Expect 10–20 minutes depending on documents; some may need to be uploaded.
- Choose your setting — private school or homeschool/other — which sets the funding amount.
